100 years later, we finally got together.
We didn’t go to the most viral of highly-rated places. We just hung out with each other and if a place happened to be nearby, we’d explore it. Luckily, everything was fantastic.
Joe’s Steam Rice Roll was amazing. I was happy to get my rice roll fix satiated with a side of the spicy chili wontons and Erling Haaland’s drink Walovi (which is basically cooling tea, a drink my mom makes all the time). We visited the Upper West Side location.

The American Museum of Natural History was super fun and full of wonders. Lovely rock gems, butterflies and much more which we didn’t get to see. The place is huge.

We also visited a couple book shops one of which had no A/C. I was dying.

We made breakfast one morning….or rather, my friends made the breakfast and I just sat patiently waiting for food. Why go out for eggs when we can make them? Ours was more satisfying – included some avocado, figs and strawberries. My friend Q and I brought the iced coffees while Y and P prepped.

The trip was too short – just a few days, but we’ll take what we can get. We did get caught in the crazy rain storm that felt like a monsoon. We found a teppanyaki place for shelter and dinner. It provided some entertainment as it seemed like everyone and their mom and there were celebrating their birthday. There were gongs being played and birthday songs sung.
What this trip reminded us is that we need to make time for each other. We’ve known each other since the 7th grade and when we get together, it sometimes feels like we’re still in the 7th grade. Girlhood to womanhood rocks.

Oh, and heading back, my friend and I Q almost missed our flight back to Boston. There was an issue with my name and the help desk line was LONG. I had to do what I had to do and ask the ladies near the front if I could get in front of them. They weren’t happy about it but they let me through.
And then, the security line was even longer. I put on my big girl pants and ask everyone if I could get ahead and everyone was SO kind! Well, except for the one guy who said no. But then, I asked the person in front of him who let me by.
All that hard work paid off because we made it…that and the fact that our flight ended up getting delayed.
That made for fun and exciting ending to a wonderful and amazing time.
Love my girls.
