It gets a 5/5 from me that’s for sure. There was so much to see and do. And yes, I did see the famed merch, but did not get a shirt or mug only because I have a billion black tees already and I am inundated with mugs. But, it was very lovely.
The whale bones were still releasing its oils. That was what I wanted to see the most and I was mesmerized. I was hoping for some weird smells, but there were none.




The Lagoda of New Bedford is a replica whaling boat that you can actually hop on and explore. Hard hats are offered because you can potentially knock yourself out with how low everything is.




There were a bunch of stuffed animals and some were showcased at the World’s Fair. So, they’re pretty old.



And as I happened upon an exhibit of mixed media art that had me mesmerized, I actually met the artist Susan Heideman. She was so lovely and kind – answering my questions about how she came to incorporate threading into her paintings on paper. It was inspiring – she is inpiring!
