On May 2, 2024 I had the absolute pleasure reviewing portfolios of the MassArt senior illustration class in person. I hadn’t realized how much is lost over video presentations until the first artist of five artists sat in the chair across from me and started walking me through the pages of their portfolio book.

The artists’ excitement was infectious. The work was exceptional and inspiring. It was also great to see some of the students from the Freelance Illustration Project from a few months ago (which I still need to write a post about).

Thank you MassArt Illustration for inviting me to participate. And, thank you artists for a job well done.

A personal treat for me was seeing some familiar faces – a former illustration classmate and friends who were reviewing as well.

I’m just so glad I was able to be there.
